The Bruins have had scoring woes at even strength all season long. The self-tracked data covers the Bruins first 30 games (up to Dec 9th). Calgary’s offence ranks right in the middle in goals for, expected goals for, and goals for above expected, so they can score, but aren’t juggernauts. Head coach Lindy Ruff will likely choose to go back to Schmid, with a chance to take the driver’s seat as the starting goalie. He has yet to post back-to-back SV% above. His line with Jack Hughes and Erik Haula have also looked out of sync for the better part of the last two games. This is the fourth time this season he hasn’t scored three games in a row. Why is that significant? Because the longest stretch of games Toffoli has gone without scoring is three. However, he hasn’t managed to find the back of the next in the past three games. Since being traded by the Flames, Toffoli leads the Devils with 12 goals. This matchup marks the first time Devils forward Tyler Toffoli will face his former team. Meanwhile the Flames (11-12-3), just finished beating fellow Metropolitan Division rival Carolina Hurricanes. The Devils (13-10-1) enter tonight off the back of a 2-1 win against Seattle Kraken.
