Crazy things to do in maui1/20/2024 ![]() ![]() I recommend jungle zipline, my whole family had fun. Sit on the beach at Kaanapali, jump off the rocks at black rock with my kids, snorkel with turtles at baby beach in lahaina, eat dole whips and food truck food, and relax. Makes it easy to book spur of the moment deals. I use the deal websites to alert me when tickets go on sale for under 300 from Los Angeles. The spa is INSANE-seriously one of the best, if not THE best, on the island-and Ive heard the rooms are actually really nice. I'll be in Tokyo end of the year, but think i'll follow up with a Maui trip in Jan. I think Isla Mujeres is right up there with Maui, but I feel less safe in Mexico than in Maui. The stay was fantastic but the seaweed was really intense. May last year, I was in Akumal, just north of Tulum. I recently went to Costa Rica in November, it was fun and the wild life was way more interesting than Maui, but the beach was not nearly as nice as Maui. The problem is that I go to some other location and realize how much more I enjoy Maui. I've gone six times now, but I also alternate exploring new areas. We would be going back near the end of May so I think whale watching season is over by then.Īre the coffee and pineapple tours worth it? Canoe among the sea turtles Sometimes you can be lucky enough to view a sea turtle, especially at the more remote spots such as Honokeana Bay. When you go back (I've seen comments where people seem to go back a lot), what do you enjoy doing the most? We had such a special time the first time we went there and I want to make sure we enjoy it and not regret going back to the same place. There are some parts of the road to hana that we had to skip over so we could do a few of those and maybe stay over night in Hana (assuming the weather cooperates). we don't normally relax at the beach/resort much, but we do love animals. The iced coffee and kihei caffe and those maui pineapple store smoothies. This serene 4,000-acre, 10-mile long park is home to one of the most recognizable of Maui’s landmarks, the 1,200-foot tall Iao Needle. We did a portion of a hike down from the top of haleakala as well. Iao Valley State Park is located in central Maui just west of Wailuku. ![]() We loved snorkeling for the very first time (both off the shore as well on a tour), we drove the Road to Hana (black sand beach) and did the Pipiwai trail, we did a helicopter tour, had lots of yummy food, did the sunrise at haleakala. We went to Maui last summer and absolutely fell in love with it.
